What is Reiki?
- An ancient Tibetan system of natural healing that utilizes universal life force energy for healing oneself and others.
- "Rei"means soul or spirit
- "ki" is the energy that pervades and surrounds all life.
How does Reiki work?
- Reiki is taught as a hands-on healing modality.
- In the practice of Reiki, universal life force energy is channeled through an individual.
- Hands on, Reiki is channeled .... hands off, the flow of energy ceases.
- The receiver uses the energy to restore harmony within the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies.
What are the benefits of Reiki?
- Reiki is an effective tool for stress reduction.
- It relaxes the physical body.
- Reiki facilitates releases in the emotional and mental bodies.
- It promotes clarity of body/mind/spirit.
- Reiki is an effective tool for personal and spiritual growth (self realization).
Who can be a channel for Reiki?
- Everyone is born with the ability to channel universal life force energy.
- It is natural and endorses no one body of beliefs - religious or philosophical. No specific belief in Reiki itself is required for it to work.
How is Reiki activated and taught?
- Reiki is activated by a Reiki Master through a series of energy transmissions or "attunements".
- The attunements amplify one's natural ability to channel this energy by adjusting the vibratory rate of the recipient.
- Reiki is traditionally taught in three levels:
- Level I:
- Student receives a permanent attunement to the Reiki energy.
- Basic hand positions for self-treatment and treatment of others are taught.
- Level II:
- Provides student with an opportunity to attune to higher levels of Reiki energy.
- Student learns the sacred symbols used in absentee healing and for emotional/mental healing.
- Student is attuned to the symbols.
- Level III / Mastership:
- A commitment is made to live one's life in a conscious way, integrating the Reiki principles
- One is certified to attune others.
